The 12 prophets —also known as ‘minor’ for the brevity of their books, not for being less significant— offer a vision of history as depending on man’s acceptance or refusal of divine principles that are meant to penetrate all aspects of life — worship, social relationships, philanthropy, work...— and all interrelated. In general their message is ecumenical, it regards the whole of human race, not only Israel, and as such it was used also by New Testament authors. God’s Day or Judgment Day, separates justice from corruption. Those who repent participate in God’s kingdom, in this life, in prosperity and justice. Repentance regards society as a whole, the transformation of a whole nation and its laws, supporting the highest moral standards of living. Man is not called to leave this world but to change it. True religion is proved in works of philanthropy and justice. Each individual can do nothing without the others, progress is a communal achievement.
The book is illuminated and features a relatively large typeface, making its reading a pleasure. You may like to check this edition even if you already have the Septuagint in some other form.
